THE FRUITS OF MY LABOUR KEEP MOULDING TO BLACK
The seven flowers each correspond to one of the flowers in Asgore's shop, with the exception of Pink. Their colors, traits, attacks and equipment link them heavily to the eight humans from Undertale and their SOULs. Additionally, Flowery resembles Undertale's Flowey rather than any human. In the garden, the party finds Aqua and Seth. Seth leaves, telling Aqua not to let the party get the Petal Feather. Aqua takes various actions in an attempt to be more humanlike. After battling with Kris in what she calls a game, she is convinced to let the party pass and obtain the feather. Aqua and Seth are seen together in the cliffs, first debating actions taken to mimic humans. They clash with the party multiple times through the course of the area. The party encounters the four other flowers, two per wing, in the Flower Castle. Both of the pairs fight the party, and the situation is resolved after the encounter. The flowers collaborate to create challenges for the party at the Top of Castle gauntlet. Flowery Flowery is the leader of the seven flowers that composed Asgore and Toriel's wedding bouquet. He is the main antagonist and final boss of Chapter 5 of Deltarune, first appearing in the Garden. Profile Appearance In the Dark World, Flowery bears striking similarities to a human, with the most obvious difference being that his skin, as well as his hair, are bright yellow. His hair is short, with the top and bangs being swayed to the right and slightly upwards. His eyes are usually closed no matter the expression. Unlike most beings in Dark Worlds, Flowery, as well as the rest of the flowers, are neither Lightners nor Darkners, as they are living beings in the Light World like Lightners but gain a radically different form in the Dark World like Darkners. Flowery's outfit consists of a white collared shirt overlaid with an orange and green vest and a black cape or jacket, which he carries over his shoulder. Brown trousers and black shoes complete his outfit. When Flowery receives the power of all the other flowers, he transforms into a pastel rainbow silhouette, bordered by an outline with a darker tone of the same colors. In this state, he calls himself "Omega Flowery". Personality Flowery is a pastiche of the type of characters who form the love interests of classic shojo anime, and is presented as such in his introductory cutscene. Flowery boasts a personality befitting the stereotype of a preppy college student - high-class, sociable, appearance-conscious and somewhat bossy. He notably acts extremely protective and friendly towards Asgore due to the circumstances leading to his life being extended beyond expectations thanks to the florist's extended care. When entering the final fight with him, he reveals more Shounen archetypes in his personality in contrast to his shojo traits, where he makes it clear that he deeply values and trusts his friends, as well as how hard he is willing to fight for them, which seems to enhance his fighting capabilities to some degree. Towards others, he has an overbearing and a confident personality. He projects a glamorous attitude prone to dramatic intonation, and calls the members of the party "Princess". He in particular has a strong habit of belittling Ralsei, which forms the crux of a rivalry between them. At various points, he forces Ralsei out of the party[5], can convince the player to turn off Ralsei's voice, and forces Ralsei to dress in his Chapter 1 attire and hide his face. In spite of this, he is also shown to care about Ralsei's identity anxieties, a fact which his demeaning approach often gets in the way of. Flowery strongly values the power of friendship and deeply cares for the other flowers, and, in turn, they look up to him as a dependable and virtuous authority figure. He has heightened awareness of the Dark World and its functioning, but on the other hand, values little the world's ultimate fate, believing that nurturing Asgore's happiness as he nurtured theirs takes priority. He starkly opposes Ralsei's fatalistic view of a determined journey guided by the prophecy, fully believing that residents of the dark are able to master their own fates and choose freedom over the shackles of fate. Additionally, Flowery is shown to be reckless; Ralsei pointed this trait out by mentioning that Flowery does not make plans before carrying out actions. In the end, this leads to his downfall after he recklessly charges against the Knight, ultimately resulting in it fatally wounding him. He has the ability to fake his stats, giving him unbelievable amounts of power. However, certain foes, such as the Knight, can seemingly ignore said fake stats, rendering them useless. Speech pattern Flowery speaks with grammar mistakes, likely in a nod to mistranslated dating simulation games. He also tends to pepper his speech with plant-related puns. His dialogue is often accompanied with voice clips, and he has a unique sound bite that can be heard when no voice clip is played or voice clips are turned off. Etymology Flowery is one letter off from Flowey, likely a reference to how Papyrus mispronounces his name, and is heavily inspired by Flowey, the main antagonist of Undertale, even using his leitmotif; the other flowers under his leadership reference the six other human souls that Undertale's Asgore gathered in order to break the barrier, in both their designs and associated virtues, with their personal attacks in particular mimicking those found in the Omega Flowey fight. Seth Seth is one of the seven flowers in Chapter 5 of Deltarune. They are the representation of the purple flower that was part of Asgore and Toriel's wedding bouquet. Seth's associated trait is perseverance. They are based on the Perseverance SOUL from Undertale, sharing their notebook bullet pattern, as well as carrying a notebook and wearing glasses. Profile Appearance Seth is a purple-colored anthropomorphic Plant with glasses, deep magenta hair, and lavender clothing. They constantly carry a book with them. Personality Seth is very helpful, trying to assist Aqua with her attacks. They are also intellectual, mentioning their research a lot and making careful plans. They tend to have a bit of a stand-offish personality, especially towards Aqua as they tend to get frustrated with her antics whilst also deflecting the blame they receive onto her. They appear to be annoyed with the antics of their allies and wish for more "intelligent" companions. Etymology Their name may come from "Perseverance", the trait of the Purple Soul in Undertale. The name is also shared by a character in Illusion of Gaia, who has a similar appearance to them. A piece of dialogue implies Seth's original name was Purple, corresponding to their associated flower/SOUL color, before they chose a new, more "human" name. Yellow Yellow is one of the seven flowers in Chapter 5 of Deltarune. He is the representation of the yellow flower that was part of Asgore and Toriel's wedding bouquet. Yellow's associated trait is justice. He is based on the Justice SOUL from Undertale, sharing their gun bullet pattern, as well as carrying a gun and wearing a cowboy hat. Profile Appearance Yellow is completely yellow with a short darker yellow/light brown mullet, dark yellow cowboy hat, a dark yellow cowboy suit, and gold spurs attached to his dark yellow boots. His jaw is wide and square-shaped, his face is simplistic with beady eyes and a wide grin, the rest of his body is thin and gangly. Personality Yellow is a well-meaning, stereotypical cowboy figure with a fixation on justice, most likely as an homage to his Undertale SOUL counterpart, which represented justice. However, he is also depicted as highly gullible, and perhaps too trusting of others; a major example of this is when, after confronting the party for trampling on Blue's flowers (or, should they avoid doing so, intending to seal the Dark Fountain), he briefly believes the party's on-the-spot excuse of the actual culprits being flowers that look like them, before fully falling for Susie's attempt to blame him instead, accepting it as him being so tricky, he "trickified" himself. Yellow's devotion to justice is such that, when fooled into believing he was "the criminell" all along, he immediately sets about punishing himself, via methods such as burying himself alive and tying himself under a laser gun, before simply deciding to lock himself up. During battle, he has the party solve a couple of cases revolving around himself and the other flowers, further showing his dedication to justice. He is also deeply infatuated with Blue. After Yellow locks himself up, Blue frees him and confronts the party for tricking him. Yellow's infatuation with Blue is such that, when Blue is revealed to have stolen his special petals, Yellow points a gun at himself instead, claming he "don't wanna be a JUSTICE if [he] gotta punish Blue". After Blue reveals he did so to make a bouquet for him, Yellow is shown to be incredibly happy. Later on, during the final stretch of the chapter, the two can be seen floating together in the background, with Yellow blushing, before Blue praises him and takes his hand, flying away with him. Main Story You first see Yellow in an interaction with Flowery and Asgore in the Garden. Flowery shows Asgore a "mostlys" real cowboy show because he had always wanted to see one. You can later meet him in person at the first Diner where he plans to drink "human juice". You can continue the conversation where he continues to show a fair bit of naivety. Blue Blue is one of the seven flowers in Chapter 5 of Deltarune. He is the representation of the blue flower that was part of Asgore and Toriel's wedding bouquet. Blue's associated trait is integrity. He is based on the Integrity SOUL from Undertale, wearing ballet shoes and a tutu. Profile Appearance Blue is a blue humanoid plant with light blue hair. His attire consists of a light blue bodystocking, a tutu skirt that resembles flower petals, and a pair of pointe shoes. Personality Blue acts in a fairly effeminate manner, as he’s dressed in traditional female ballerina attire and refers to other people, especially Yellow, as “dear”, He also has a tendency to refer to himself as a butterfly. Blue’s main passion is love in all forms and strikes a cordial relationship with the main trio due to each of them fighting for love in one form or another. Despite embodying and valuing the virtue of integrity, Blue shows himself to be somewhat lacking in it, evading a $2 debt to Green by pretending to not comprehend their requests, and stealing from both Yellow and Orange in order to make them gifts, even deciding to not return Orange's gloves to her after she expresses disatisfaction with the gift made from them. Aqua Aqua is one of the seven flowers in Chapter 5 of Deltarune. She is the representation of the cyan/aqua flower that was part of Asgore and Toriel's wedding bouquet. She is a recurring miniboss throughout the Flower Kingdom. Aqua's associated trait is patience, though she is said to lack any.[2] She is based on the Patience SOUL from Undertale, sharing their knife bullet pattern, as well as wielding a knife and wearing a ribbon. Her spinning knife Omega attack was teased in the Chapter 5 announcement trailer[3] which alludes to the Cyan SOUL's attack in the Omega Flowey boss fight. Her speech text has a cyan tint to it. Her face sprite while talking is replaced by a cyan knife. Profile Appearance Aqua is a light blue humanoid plant with a dress, red shoes, long black hair that curls up to appear like devil horns, and a heart-shaped ribbon in her hair. She has one eye (sometimes three), hidden by her bangs. She is shorter than the other flowers. Personality Aqua is playful, childish, and naive. She doesn't seem to understand what's going on most of the time but is very violent, consistently attacking the party and other characters. Aqua is frequently seen intervening on others' battles, typically to instill chaos or aid the other flowers. She gets bored if doing the same thing over and over again, and usually decides to do something else afterwards. Aqua's overall personality calls back to Jevil, with references to a love for chaos, his signature laughter and his battle theme, THE WORLD REVOLVING. Aqua is often seen accompanying Seth as they attempt to rein in her unpredictable actions. In return, she is also seen encouraging Seth to play and seek enjoyment outside of Flowery's instructions. Orange Orange is one of the seven flowers in Chapter 5 of Deltarune. She is the representation of the orange flower that was part of Asgore and Toriel's wedding bouquet. Orange's associated trait is bravery. She is based on the Bravery SOUL from Undertale, sharing their boxing glove bullet pattern, as well as using a boxing glove and wearing a bandanna. Profile Appearance Orange is a small mouse with an orange fur coat, headband, and pair of boxing gloves. She initially refrains from revealing this by making a large, simplistic one-eyed shadow puppet from behind the walls of the castle. Orange is also the one who makes the item OrangeJuice. Personality Orange is a very sensitive person, who very often feels that she's being bullied by the party. She's also extremely quick to anger and hotheaded, not unlike Susie in Chapter 1. Main story Orange first appears in the east wing of Flower Castle, hiding behind a wall and using shadow puppetry to communicate with the players. She initially attacks with projectiles in a platforming section that deal a single point of damage. Seth starts a fight against an attack pattern again, with Orange helping, but Orange's assistance in fact leads to the attack pattern's defeat. She attacks the characters multiple times, with each hit doing no damage. Her boss fight begins when she believes she's been insulted. Green Green is one of the seven flowers in Chapter 5 of Deltarune. They are the representation of the green flower that was part of Asgore and Toriel's wedding bouquet. Green's associated trait is kindness. They are based on the Kindness SOUL from Undertale, sharing their fried egg bullet pattern, as well as carrying a pan. Profile Green is a Lime/Green colored Plant that appears in Chapter 5. They never speak, instead only communicating through hand gestures or signs. Green is almost never antagonistic towards the party, and instead often helps them by offering them wares. Appearance Green is a Lime/Green colored Plant. They are dressed in green-colored shoes, a Lime suit with a green shirt underneath and a lime Chef hat on top of their head. They are often seen holding a frying pan. They have two very close, Cyclops-like merged eyes with green pupils and 4 lashes. They have a small smile in the fight against Orange and Them. Their green color is probably a reference to the green soul that represents kindness in Undertale. Personality Green is depicted as shy, clumsy, unconditionally kind, and caring, if occasionally irritable. Their kindness is such that they go out of their way to assist the heroes; for instance, should they lose the fight against Flowery, Green will give back the healing items they've consumed during the attempt. Another instance of this is when they are fought alongside Orange — some of their attacks MAX heal the party instead of dealing damage. Green appears to be fully capable of talking, but chooses not to,[3] instead favoring body language and hand signals to communicate. On occasion, they utilize signs with writing on them, such as when they reveal their name to the party. Main story They appear to help fight orange. They appear to help flowery in the end fight when flowery calls for his friends help. they sell items at a cafe in the castle located to the right. Additionally Pink, while not a flower, claims to be a member of the seven flowers and is seen as a sister by the other members. In reality, she is a Lightner ghost possessing an action figure of Mew Mew. Her Undertale counterpart is Mad Mew Mew. Pink Pink is a Lightner-Darkner hybrid in Deltarune. Being the irritable ghost from the Blook house possessing a Mew Mew doll which turned into a Darkner in Flower Kingdom, she acts as a shopkeeper, the Shadow Crystal boss of Chapter 5, and the final Shadow Crystal boss as a whole.[4][5] Pink can be found at the shop in the Cliffs and in a secret area in Flower Castle, behind a locked door that can be opened by buying the MysteryKey from her for 10 Pink Coins at her shop by the Cliffs area. Defeating Pink allows the party access to the Seven flowers' hidden room, along with their items. Pink dons a pink, short dress adorned with ribbons. She has cat-toy bells for earrings and light pink-colored short hair, and cat ears with a white colored inside. She also holds a pink-and-yellow colored staff used for attacking. She resembles a "Catgirl", which is popular in anime culture. As a ghost, she keeps her cat ears, and her outfit remains the same, apart from a palette swap replacing the pink dress and hair with purple, and the staff becomes purple and white, along with her eyebrows becoming thicker and angrier. When singing, she dons a pink kimono adorned with white roses and her spiky pigtails become hair buns kept in shape by cherry-blossom shaped hair pins. Personality Pink's Ghost - She is repulsed by the idea of dating anyone, as she is afraid of anyone else wanting her body more than she does. This hatred goes so far as physically attempting to stop her battle's DATE mechanic from happening, contrasting with her Darkner counterpart. Pink's Body - It shows an intense love for dating, something that causes Ghost Pink great distress. This love goes so far as attempting to keep the DATE going for as long as possible, contrasting with its Ghost counterpart. Whereas the Ghost is rude and brash, the Darkner is kind and loving. After the battle, Pink admits the body "still feels doki's" for Kris, until she's informed that they flirt with every enemy. Ghost and Body - Pink's Darkner body is used as a vessel until they seperate during the second DATE. The Ghost appears to be the one in control, but is constantly interrupted by the body's [implied to be] prerecorded voicelines. Pink notes that a difficult boss fight is no longer enough on its own, so she is also an idol using the body. She appears nice until Susie and Ralsei question her status as one of the seven flowers, which she quickly reveals her true colors. While "Pink" is not involved in the main story of Chapter 5, she is implied to be the shopkeeper for the shop in the Cliffs and is a friend of Orange, despite the two being unrelated. Orange calls her "Big Sis", while Pink refers to Orange as "Ory". Near the top of Flower Castle, a pink door can be found in a side path. Opening this door with the key purchased from the Cliffs shop will unlock Pink's room, where Susie and Ralsei suspect they will find a powerful enemy. When they only find Orange, Ralsei lightly teases how it's "just" Orange, causing Orange to get angry and run off to Pink for backup, triggering the fight. After Pink is beaten, Susie will invite her to join Castle Town. She will also be joined by Orange in her shop and can participate in breaks to get to know the other flowers with the exception of Flowery.
