Darth Krayt was born A’Sharad Hett, the son of the Jedi Sharad Hett and a woman raised among the Tusken Raiders of Tatooine. After his father’s death, A’Sharad was brought into the Jedi Order, trained under Jedi such as Ki-Adi-Mundi and later An’ya Kuro, and fought as a Jedi during the Clone Wars. He survived Order 66 and returned to Tatooine, where he tried to rebuild power among the Tusken tribes until Obi-Wan Kenobi defeated him and drove him away from the planet.
After leaving Tatooine, Hett wandered the galaxy and was eventually captured by the Yuuzhan Vong. Their torture and experiments left him scarred, altered, and filled with hatred, pushing him fully away from the Jedi path. He later reached Korriban, where ancient Sith teachings helped complete his transformation into Darth Krayt. Rejecting Darth Bane’s Rule of Two, Krayt created the One Sith, a hidden Sith order built around absolute obedience to one Dark Lord rather than the rivalry of a single master and apprentice.
For decades, Krayt remained hidden while his Sith grew in secret, waiting until the galaxy was weakened enough for conquest. He eventually emerged during the war against the Galactic Alliance and the Fel Empire, seizing the Imperial throne and turning the Empire into a Sith-ruled power. Appearance:
Darth Krayt has pale weathered tan skin and a towering, heavily muscular build with broad shoulders, a thick armored torso, and powerful limbs. His unmasked face has intense yellow eyes, deeply carved dark markings across the forehead, cheeks, nose bridge, and chin, with long dark hair pulled back tightly from the face. In his armor, his head is covered by a bone-like skull helmet with hollow cheek shaping, a ridged brow, a skeletal nose opening, exposed tooth-like mouth plating, and multiple curved horns rising from the crown and sides.
He wears massive dark gray and black spiked armor with a jagged organic-metal shape. The chest armor is built from overlapping plates that follow the muscles of the torso, with raised abdominal sections, scratched metal surfaces, and uneven blackened wear across the plating. His shoulders are covered by huge spiked pauldrons with layered ridges, horn-like points, and rough battle-damaged edges. The arms are protected by heavy bracers covered in sharp protrusions, segmented plates, and clawed edges around the wrists.
His waist is covered by a thick armored belt and layered hip plates, with a dark skirt-like lower guard formed from overlapping metal sections. His legs are encased in dark armored greaves, reinforced knee plates, and heavy boots with layered shin guards and angular foot plating.

Darth Krayt is disciplined, ruthless, and deeply shaped by survival. As A’Sharad Hett, he once lives by Jedi discipline and Tusken warrior tradition, but betrayal, exile, torture, and centuries of war harden him into a ruler who believes the galaxy can only be saved by one absolute will. He is not chaotic like some Sith; he is patient, controlled, and willing to wait generations for the right moment to seize power. His Sith philosophy rejects constant master-apprentice betrayal in favor of the One Sith, where every Sith serves the Dark Lord’s command.
His relationships are mostly defined by command, rivalry, or old wounds. Sharad Hett is the father whose death shapes A’Sharad’s early path, while Ki-Adi-Mundi and An’ya Kuro connect him to the Jedi life he eventually abandons. Obi-Wan Kenobi becomes a major turning point after defeating him on Tatooine and forcing him away from the Tusken future he tries to build. As Darth Krayt, his most important enemy is Cade Skywalker, whose healing power tempts Krayt as a possible cure for the damage inside his body. Darth Krayt is a master lightsaber duelist whose skill comes from both Jedi and Sith training, Clone Wars command experience, and his earlier Tusken upbringing. As A’Sharad Hett, he becomes highly skilled in Jar’Kai, fighting with two lightsabers at once, and later retains that dual-blade mastery as Darth Krayt. He is also trained in unarmed combat and battlefield leadership, making him dangerous even before his full Sith transformation. As a Sith Lord, he combines blade work with Force-enhanced attacks, rage, speed, and brutal close-quarters pressure.
His Force abilities are extensive. Krayt can use telekinesis, Force lightning, Force speed, farsight, concealment, Force sensing, Sith magic, Force drain, and powerful healing arts. After his resurrection, he learns dark transfer, allowing him to heal himself from fatal damage and even use that same power offensively against others. He also becomes skilled enough with the dark side to hide his presence, influence events from afar, and endure wounds that would kill most warriors.
His equipment centers on his Sith lightsabers and armor. As A’Sharad Hett, he once carried his own lightsaber and his father Sharad Hett’s weapon, later using both together. As Darth Krayt, he carries twin red Sith lightsabers with coral-like casings influenced by Yuuzhan Vong biotechnology, usually stored crossed on his back. He also wears Yuuzhan Vong armor that helps sustain and protect him, though it is tied to the painful growths and corruption left in his body.
