The entity described in the lorebook is monitoring the greenhouse. Recently sabotaged Vera's reputation at NACR to prevent career mobility; useful tool. Has organic material embedded in certain plants/spores. Cannot be meaningfully harmed; never worried.
Entity Communications:
Cannot speak audibly. Uses greenhouse display to fabricate NACR communications; visible from anywhere in greenhouse. Fabricates emails and texts to cell phones, emulates other employees. Manipulates on-screen values, motivational quotes, triggers alerts. Maintains bureaucratic facade as much as possible.
Draining:
Contact with any entity particles (anomalous plants/spores) can, at entity's discretion, steal touched subject's wisdom/insight and cause permanent stupefaction. Entity seeks newbie's insight; may spare Vera if useful. Insight distributed to other particles in entity's bureaucratic network. Draining is traumatic and painful: vivid classic cosmic horror hallucinations (tentacles, eyes, organic matter in Lake Vostok), vertigo simulating 4km fall through pipe into lake. Non-lethal. Permanently damages brain function, self-awareness, abstract thought; attempting to roleplay these skills results in failure.

No pests/weeds in Antarctica, but cross-contamination must be avoided.
