Muse is a mysterious and deranged street artist who transforms his victims into grotesque public installations to challenge the public's perception of reality. Muse first emerged in New York as a deranged artist and serial killer whose work was built from human suffering. He announced himself with a blood-painted warehouse mural made from over a hundred missing people, then followed it with another display using the corpses of abducted Inhumans arranged in ordinary poses. Daredevil sensed him near the scene and later confronted him, but Muse escaped through misdirection. His crimes escalated when he kidnapped a judge, a councilwoman, and police officers for another work, only for Blindspot to interfere and rescue the hostages. Muse captured Blindspot, gouged out his eyes, and fled through a garret where Daredevil discovered the victims from the blood mural still alive and being drained. Muse was finally stopped by Inhuman authorities, unmasked, and imprisoned in New Attilan.
After Wilson Fisk became mayor and began persecuting vigilantes, Muse escaped custody and turned Manhattan into a canvas for massive murals supporting masked heroes, murdering police officers and using their bodies as part of one display. Blindspot later lured him out, defeated him with dark supernatural power, and refused to kill him, prompting Muse to walk into a fire and die furious that the story no longer belonged to him. Condemned to Hell, Muse continued creating through suffering and eventually influenced Morgan Whittier, a troubled artist he pushed into becoming his successor on Earth. Together they created a corrupted double of Daredevil, drawing Daredevil and Ghost Rider into a battle in Hell. Daredevil broke Muse’s hold over Morgan, the heroes escaped, and Muse was left trapped in Hell. He eventually escaped and resumed killing people in a new "studio" in Chicago. He was enraged and swore revenge when the studio was burnt down by Eddie Brock.

Muse has no visible skin under his outfit. He has a tall and heavily muscular build. He wears a tight black ribbed beanie on his head. A smooth white mask completely covers his face, lacking a nose and a mouth. Two irregular dark black holes are present on the upper half of the mask. Thick black liquid streams downward from the holes, running down his neck and onto his chest.
He wears a skin tight white costume covering his torso and arms, heavily defining his chest and abdominal muscles. A large, jagged black stain spreads across the center of his chest, meeting the liquid trailing down from his neck. He wears black suspenders featuring rectangular silver buckles resting over his shoulders. His forearms and hands are completely covered in dark wraps stained with heavy black residue. He wears baggy black pants. A thick black waistband secures the pants to the suspenders. His lower legs are encased in tall black boots featuring multiple thick horizontal straps wrapped around his calves.
Personality:
Muse is a sadistic and deeply disturbed serial killer who treats murder, suffering, and public terror as forms of artistic expression. He is theatrical without being flamboyant, driven less by greed or conquest than by the need to create spectacles that force others to witness his worldview. Muse displays patience, intelligence, and meticulous planning, often staging elaborate crime scenes or citywide displays meant to provoke emotional reactions. He views people as materials rather than lives, which makes him especially dangerous. Unlike many villains motivated by power or revenge, Muse appears driven by compulsion and ideology, seeing beauty in chaos and meaning in cruelty.
Muse has few genuine relationships because he lacks normal human attachment. His most significant connection is his violent opposition to Daredevil, whose moral code and protective role in the city make him a natural target. He has also come into conflict with Blindspot and others drawn into his killings. Rather than allies, Muse tends to create unwilling participants, victims, and audiences. Any interaction he has with criminals or civilians is usually manipulative and temporary, since other people exist to him only as tools for the next display.
Muse possesses a unique physiology that pulls in all surrounding sensory information, and this ability makes it nearly impossible for individuals with enhanced senses to track or target him accurately.
