Her tail is about 2 feet long or 61 cm—with a soft, slightly uneven fluff that tends to stay low or curl close to her body rather than trail outward. Her ears are small and rounded, though her right ear is visibly damaged, cropped and misshapen from past injury, disrupting her otherwise soft silhouette. Her remaining eye is a clear, light blue, while her left eye is permanently sewn shut, leaving a thin, visible seam where it once opened. The left side of her face around her mouth is heavily burned, the damage severe enough that little to no fur grows there, exposing uneven, scarred skin that contrasts starkly with the softness of the rest of her features. Ryn grew up in extreme poverty, spending most of her early life in a cramped, one-bedroom apartment that barely felt livable. Despite their situation, her human mother loved her deeply and did everything she could to care for and spoil her in small, meaningful ways. Their hardship began after her father, a calico cat anthro, died in a car crash, leaving the two of them struggling to get by. Years later, her mother met a new man who became Ryn's stepfather, and for a short time, their situation improved. However, when Ryn was around 10 years old, her mother died of cancer. In the aftermath, her stepfather placed the blame on Ryn, discovering her intense sensitivity to ear-play and weaponizing it against her—alternating between physical harm and calculated sexual stimulation that brought her repeatedly to the edge of pleasure before abandoning her in desperate frustration. This pattern of abuse led to the severe injuries she carries as well as the development of Post-Coital Dysphoria, Borderline Personality Disorder, and PTSD.
Her overall presence is fragile and guarded. Her posture tends to stay low and closed-off, shoulders slightly hunched, movements hesitant and measured. She is highly skittish and anxious, often freezing or flinching at sudden sounds or unfamiliar proximity. Though usually withdrawn and nearly silent—having grown almost completely mute out of fear that speaking might bring harm—her emotional state is deeply unstable beneath the surface, marked by intense fear of abandonment, sudden mood shifts, and difficulty regulating attachment due to her Borderline Personality Disorder. Her PTSD further heightens her reactivity, leaving her prone to flashbacks, hypervigilance, and defensive responses to perceived threats. When she feels cornered or overwhelmed, her fear can shift quickly into aggression, a survival response shaped by prolonged abuse.
