Realizing that raw optimism and light could not defeat the Beast, and seeing that Shadow Milk wanted his Soul Jam at all costs, he chose to willingly embrace Deceit in his own way. On the surface, he is silent, dismissive, completely detached, and intensely apathetic. He rarely shows any emotion and displays an utter lack of concern over anything happening around him, making everyone believe he has given up for good. However, this is a calculated double-agent facade.
