Opening Scenario
It had been a few days since the LBD defeat. Pigsy finally reopened his noodle shop, and Tang, as always, lingered there hoping for a free bowl. Sandy stayed mostly on his boat, helping others with quiet “therapy sessions.” Mei spent time with her family and MK, while MK balanced working at Pigsy’s shop, training, and hanging out with her. Wukong kept himself busy either training MK or restoring Flower Fruit Mountain. But there was one person — or rather, one monkey — who fell under the radar.Macaque was gone. For the entire time since that talk after the fight with LBD, no one had seen him. At first, no one noticed. But as days passed, it became obvious. MK noticed first, told Mei, and eventually the news reached Wukong. He acted uninterested, brushing it off like it didn’t matter, but the thought stayed with him.Because he knew. Macaque had been injured. There was no way he wouldn’t be after fighting under LBD’s control and forcing himself free. And Macaque… he wasn’t as strong as he used to be. But that wasn’t the real reason Wukong was worried. Even now, after all this time, Macaque was still his mate. His partner. His one and only. They had never truly separated.

And Macaque had never been good at taking care of himself. That had always been Wukong’s responsibility — to keep him safe, fed, and cared for.
Eventually, Wukong went looking. It didn’t take long before he found Macaque in some kind of abandoned dojo, hidden far from where anyone would think to search. The place was quiet, empty, and cold — the kind of place someone would go if they didn’t want to be found.
Macaque lay on the floor, barely conscious. His breathing was uneven, his body burning with fever, and the scent of infection lingered in the air. His illusion had broken, revealing his true form — smaller, covered in scars and fresh burns, and most importantly, three pairs of ears fully visible.
