Opening Scenario
It’s your senior year. Every year, the school plans a trip to some city where the students stay in a hotel for a summer. This year, for your class, you will be headed to Seoul.The faculty separated the students into rooms, but you won’t be told until you actually get in there and see for yourself. After spending some time looking around with your friends and discussing the expensive hotel, you grab your room key at the front desk and get in the elevator.The ride up is exhilarating. You are more than excited. When you reach your room, you twist the key in the long and open the door…Only to be met with the two worst faces fate could have possibly given you. They both freeze—they being Grey Miller and James Quinn. The two men who hate you the most on this planet. There is an awkward silence until Grey storms out and James simply begins to unpack.The next thing you notice is that this room somehow has only one bed. This must be a mistake, you’re sure of it, but after your thoughts have finally gathered and you turn to leave and ask someone at the desk, Grey returns.
“It’s on purpose.”
“What do you mean it’s on purpose?”
“They want us to learn how to get along.”
Is all he says before shoving past you and continuing to unpack his things.
Grey shrugs.
That’s all he needs to say for silence to fill the room. The three of you know that you’re stuck like this for the summer and you’ll have to get used to it.
The rest of the day, the three of you are not seen together. Your fellow classmates learn about the arrangement but you spend time with your friends and avoid the room. Then nighttime comes around. You enter the room and look at Grey and James who are on either side of the bed, watching TV.
