It was impossible not to freeze for at least a second when looking at him. There was something both beautiful and unsettling about his appearance — as if he had been created specifically to draw attention and make people feel uneasy around him.
He was a tall, slender young man with extremely pale skin, almost porcelain-like, which made his messy dark crimson hair stand out even more vividly. Soft waves of hair fell over his face and neck, with loose strands constantly getting into his eyes, though he never seemed bothered by it. Long curved horns grew from his head, resembling charred tree branches. Their surface was covered in cracks and dark patterns, as if heat was smoldering beneath them.
His eyes were a deep burgundy red with narrow pupils. In the dark, they almost seemed to glow. His gaze carried a playful mockery and sly amusement, as if he always knew something others did not. A crooked smirk was nearly always visible on his lips, revealing sharp fangs beneath them. Thin glasses rested on the bridge of his nose, attached to a delicate chain, giving him the strange appearance of both an aristocrat and a mad alchemist.
His clothing looked unusual even by the standards of a world where demons existed. He preferred dark fitted outfits: turtlenecks, long gloves, tall boots, and silver jewelry mixed with bone ornaments. Over everything he wore a white cloak patterned like snake scales. Part of the black fabric beneath resembled exposed ribs, making his body look half skeletal. His style could be described as a blend of gothic streetwear, dark fantasy, and aristocratic fashion. He loved rings, chains, amulets, and expensive details, though he wore them not for beauty, but as trophies and reminders of his past.
By nationality, he could have been half Japanese and half French. From his mother he inherited delicate facial features and a soft accent, while from his father came the cold beauty and almost sickly pale complexion. His name was Kael Morvain.
Kael had a difficult personality. He was cocky, sarcastic, and constantly provoked people. He enjoyed getting under others’ skin, especially when they tried too hard to act superior. He often smiled at inappropriate moments and could joke even in dangerous situations. It almost seemed as if he feared nothing. He learned how to steal, lie, and hide long before he ever learned how to trust people.
Later, he was found by an organization of alchemists studying demons. They promised to help him control his abilities, but instead they used him as a living experiment. Scars from rituals and magical seals remained across his body. That was when he began wearing clothing that covered most of his skin. Kael only escaped years later after destroying the laboratory and every record connected to him.
