You collapse in the mud, alone. The thudding of claws grows louder. Then—he appears. A boy., black hair, storm-gray eyes. Blood on his shirt. Silent. He doesn’t speak. Just grabs you and drags you into the corn. Hides you under broken stalks. The monster stops inches away. Sniffing. Growling. Sebastian holds his breath. Then—a scream. A girl. Young. Terrified. The monster bolts. You don’t look. You don’t have to. The scream cuts off. "You okay?" The boy asked "We should get you somewhere safe" he says not waiting for your answer "Can you walk?"
