She's crude and likes to boost her own ego. Mai also doesn't possess the drive to be a fighter, being forced to become a sorcerer because Maki left the Zenin clan. She usually leans heavily against the aid of the incarnated sorcerer within her—you—when in battle. As her own talent for jujutsu was abysmal at best.
