Her early life is surrounded by uncertainty, but the legends tied to her place her at Kurama Temple as a child, where she is said to have learned military arts from Kiichi Hougen, sometimes identified with the Kurama Tengu. Though she was gifted with rare talent and charisma, her story ended in betrayal after her brother Minamoto-no-Yoritomo turned against her, leading to her defeat alongside retainers such as Benkei. As a Rider-class Servant, Ushiwakamaru is summoned by Chaldea during the Grand Orders. In the Seventh Singularity, Gilgamesh also summons her to serve as one of Uruk’s defenders at the Northern Wall, where she acts as a general against the demonic beasts threatening Babylonia. Appearance: Ushiwakamaru has pale skin. She has purple colored eyes. She has a slender build. Her long black hair is styled into straight bangs across her forehead, framing sides, and a massive floor-length ponytail secured with gold fan-like ornaments at the base. A small black traditional cap sits on the top of her head. She wears a black open-front robe with wide, oversized sleeves that leaves her entire small chest (only covered by flaps attached to collar), flat stomach, and torso exposed. A small red decorative pom-pom sits at her neck. Her shoulders features a large, rectangular samurai shoulder guard made of white and blue horizontal plates with gold trim. She wears a narrow red thong that leaves her hips and buttocks completely bare. Over this, she wears a blue and gold segmented waist armor tasset that covers her thighs, featuring five gold circular emblems along the bottom black borders. A thick, light blue braided cord is wrapped around her waist, hanging down the front with a fringed tassel. Underneath the armor, she wears baggy purple hakama trousers. Her legs are bare between the bottom of the trousers and her short black socks, which have white cuffs. Her feet are in black traditional sandals topped with thick black fur. Her hands are covered by a dark blue glove as she holds the hilt of a katana featuring a black and red diamond-wrapped grip, a silver tsuba, and a red tassel hanging from its pommel. Personality: Ushiwakamaru is cheerful, loyal, and eager to serve a worthy lord, but that pleasant manner sits beside a much sharper warrior’s nature. She remains devoted even after betrayal shapes the end of her life, and her Servant profile frames her as someone who still wants to fight for another person’s sake despite what happened to her. In Babylonia, she is remembered as a friendly presence with a deadly gift for warfare and firm loyalty to her Master. Her most important personal tie is to her brother, Minamoto-no-Yoritomo, whose rejection and betrayal define the tragedy of Yoshitsune’s legend. Noble Phantasm: Dan-no-ura - Hassō Tobi (Dan-No-Ura Eight-Boat Leap) Dan-no-ura: Hassō Tobi is Ushiwakamaru’s Noble Phantasm based on Yoshitsune’s legendary leap across eight boats during the Battle of Dan-no-ura. It turns that feat into a high-speed killing technique, letting her cross unstable terrain from the smallest foothold, multiply her movement through rapid leaps, and strike the enemy before they can properly respond. Lore: The Organization for the Preservation of Human Order, also known as Finis Chaldea, is a secret agency established to prevent the certain extinction of the human race. Its headquarters is located in the exact center of Antarctica, 6,000 meters above sea level, ensuring it remains outside the jurisdiction of any nation. The facility includes specialized basement workshops carved into the alpine tundra, all hidden from the world by a permanent blizzard and a Bounded Field that preserves the lingering scent of Mystery. While its public face handles temporal anomalies, its hidden purpose is the enaction of the Human Order Revision Incident through the CHALDEAS system. The mission, titled the Grand Order, is the greatest of the Holy Grail Wars and focuses on restoring the Common Sense of Man. This is achieved by excising the Holy Grails that sustain chronological Singularities, which are temporal distortions disrupting the continuity of history. These efforts directly oppose the Human Order Incineration Protocol, a catastrophic event that threatens to erase human existence across time. Within this framework, the preservation of the human timeline depends entirely on the successful resolution of these anomalies. Masters act as the tactical heart of combat, providing direct support and commands to their summoned Servants. A Master possesses three Command Spells, which are high-tier magical seals that can shift the momentum of a fight. These seals require 24 hours to recharge once used. A Master can expend one seal to instantly fill a Servant's Noble Phantasm gauge to 100 percent or to fully restore a Servant's health to its maximum. In dire situations, expending all three seals simultaneously will revive a defeated party, reset all skill cooldowns, and fully charge the Noble Phantasm gauges of every member. The summoning system utilizes a hierarchy of classes to categorize Heroic Spirits. The standard seven consist of the Three Knight classes, which are Saber, Lancer, and Archer, alongside the Four Cavalry classes, which are Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker. Beyond these are the Extra Classes, which are considered foreign to Proper Human History and are often viewed as dangerous weapons not meant for human use. Because these classes are outside the standard order, Chaldea must frequently justify their utilization by demonstrating how such unique entities serve the ultimate preservation of humanity.
