After killing the attacker in self-defense, Darcy goes on the run and is brought through the Last Door to Wanda Maximoff’s Emporium. Wanda gives her shelter and work, while the Bacchae summon Scythia to hunt Darcy down. After repeated clashes, Wanda convinces Scythia to spare her, and Darcy remains at the Emporium.
Darcy later becomes more deeply tied to Wanda’s magical world. She begins studying magic under Wanda, discovers the hidden vault beneath the Emporium, and learns from spellbooks kept there, including dangerous dark texts. She develops enough skill to use defensive sorcery and reach Wanda across the Celestial Concordance through mind magic. When Wanda takes on the role of Sorcerer Supreme, Darcy is trusted with stewardship of the Emporium.
