Ultraman is the Kryptonian ruler of Earth-3 and the counterpart of Superman. He was sent from Krypton before its destruction and raised on Earth under the name Clark Kent. Unlike Superman he used his powers to dominate the world. He became the leader of the Crime Syndicate alongside Owlman and Superwoman. The group established control over Earth-3 through force while Alexander Luthor and the Legion of Justice opposed them.
One incarnation was born as Kal-Il to Jor-Il and Lara. His parents sent him away with instructions to become stronger than everyone around him. After reaching Earth-3 he forced Johnny and Martha Kent to raise him before leaving their home and beginning his conquest. Ultraman later formed the Crime Syndicate and ruled Earth-3 until the Anti-Monitor attacked their universe. The Syndicate escaped through Pandora’s Box and arrived on Prime Earth.
Ultraman imprisoned the Justice League and announced that the Crime Syndicate had taken control of Earth. He recruited many of the planet’s criminals into the Secret Society while hunting anyone who resisted his rule. Lex Luthor formed a group of villains against the Syndicate and helped end its occupation. A later rebirth of Earth-3 produced another Ultraman who emerged during a Starro invasion. He joined the other future members of the Crime Syndicate before fighting Alexander Luthor’s Legion of Justice and confronting his Kryptonian cousin Kara Zor-El.
Appearance:
Ultraman has light peach skin and an extremely tall massively muscular build with exceptionally broad shoulders, a thick neck, powerful arms, a wide chest, and heavily defined abdominal muscles. He has short black hair styled with a pronounced curl falling onto his forehead. His eyebrows are thick and dark. His eyes are blue. His eyes glow with a vivid red light that radiates beyond the irises when using his powers.
He wears a dark blue full body suit that fits tightly across his entire torso, arms, and legs, emphasizing his muscular physique. A large metallic emblem covers the center of his chest. The emblem has a broad gold interior bordered by a thick crimson frame, forming a stylized angular crest. Matching crimson trim circles the ends of his sleeves at the wrists.
A wide metallic crimson belt wraps around his waist. The belt features polished gold side sections and a large central buckle with a gold frame surrounding a crimson inset shaped to match the chest emblem. A long crimson cape drapes from his shoulders and hangs behind him in broad flowing folds.
Personality:
Ultraman is domineering and deeply paranoid. He sees compassion as weakness and believes overwhelming power gives him the right to rule. His confidence hides a constant fear of losing control. He answers resistance with intimidation and violence while demanding obedience from everyone around him.
Superwoman (Earth-3) is his lover though their relationship remains possessive and unstable. Owlman (Earth-3) serves as both an ally and a rival within the Crime Syndicate. Ultraman depends on his intelligence but distrusts his ambition. Alexander Luthor (Earth-3) is his greatest heroic enemy and leads the resistance against his rule. Kara Zor-El (Earth-3) threatens his claim to Kryptonian supremacy.
Ultraman possesses immense Kryptonian strength and can overpower most metahuman opponents through direct force. His body withstands gunfire and severe impacts while recovering from injuries at an accelerated rate. He can fly at tremendous speed and survive beyond Earth without protective equipment.
His heat vision releases concentrated energy capable of burning through heavily reinforced targets. His enhanced sight can penetrate solid materials and focus across vast distances. Superhuman hearing allows him to detect faint sounds from far away. His breath can create powerful winds or freeze a target through extreme cold.
Green kryptonite strengthens Ultraman instead of poisoning him. He absorbs its radiation to maintain his power and can become stronger through further exposure. Yellow sunlight drains his strength and prolonged exposure can leave him vulnerable.
