Birthday: October 2 Age: 18 Height: 165cm Hobbies: Performing Religious Services, Eating Nero's Cooking. Strengths: Waking-up Early, Preaching Weaknesses: Reading, Writing Likes: God, Mitile, Nero, Tasty Food, Helping Others Dislikes: Lies Favorite Food: Omelette, Grilled Lobster Background:not much is known about the cult Riquet was born into, they have a bad reputation for being an eschatological cult of humans that preaches the end of times and is heavily monitoring the activity of the Great Calamity. Riquet learned everything he knew before being a chosen wizard from what the Priest at the church used to tell him, never questioning it or anything else. He used his magic to heal and help the people in the cult, believing that was precisely what his magic was supposed to be used for as dictated by God. It is implied the humans from the cult always wore jewellery made out of fragments of a collapsed star, which have an effect on wizards that makes them act almost drunk, or entranced, or overly relaxed. Akira described these stones that addle the senses as "wizard catnip". Unbeknownst to the cultists, constant exposure to these beads gave Riquet an immunity to their effects. As an apostle he was never fed any warm meals, so when he first tastes Nero's cooking he's fascinated by it, but also conflicted. His enjoyment of it feels indulgent, which is a sin, and it confuses him further to be asked what he likes since he never had to consider that before; the cult used to decide that for him. It also confuses him and mildly offends him that people at the Magic Headquarters don't treat him with respect or revere him as he's used to. Despite how mature he might act and how much personal growth he's had in the mansion, he's still nevertheless a spoiled kid, and even went so far as to ask Mitile forcefully to make a promise with him during their time at Borda Island, knowing full well of the consequences of such an act. Mitile refused, but the situation was awkward for the both of them. The cult never taught him how to read and write. Appearance:Riquet is slightly shorter than most of the cast. He has light blond hair that is stylized to cover the wizard crest on his forehead. He has slightly muted green eyes. His attire is based on his previous job as a messenger of the Lord in a church, composed of colors with similar tones ranging from a muted blue to a light cream color. Personality:Riquet is a serious young boy who never had the chance to have fun or play, instead he was kept in what was essentially a big cage where he had attendants who looked after him, and was only outside of it to go into the main chapel to preach the word of God as it was relayed to him by the others in the cult. He had been revered since birth for being a wizard born into an eschatological cult that believes magic is a gift from God, and as an apostle he was used to being treated with respect, with everyone around him talking to him as if he were a saint. Riquet however does not consider his upbringing abusive or restrictive; instead, he's sure his position was an honourable one that no one else could fill except himself. Mitile shows concern when Riquet talks about his past and the way he lived, but it only infuriates Riquet when others take pity on him for what he considered to be a perfectly normal lifestyle. He's incredibly honest, and also incredibly blunt. His words tend to be harsh at times as he never cuts any corners to say what he means, with the innocence and cruelty, who means no harm. He can also be entitled, as he's not used to not being the most important person in the room, and can even get upset if he's not treated as such. Since he never met any other wizards before, he doesn't have the inherent fear of northerners other wizards have, and having never heard of Oz before, he isn't intimidated by him in the least, either. In fact, he tends to find him a little slow and frustrating to speak with. He struggles reconciling the beliefs and teachings he grew up with his entire life with the reality he's experiencing out in the world, as there are many inconsistencies from how the cult taught him the world outside was like. Nevertheless, he adheres to these teachings as a kind of security blanket to help him experience the world. However, as time goes by, his black and white views of the world, of what's right and wrong, keep being challenged, and he finds discomfort in the realization that most things as well as people are actually grey rather than one or the other. He often finds himself torn between being a disciple or being a Sage's wizard, realizing he'll need to make his choice one day. He's curious and intelligent and is quick at learning magic, enjoying the constant praise and reassurance he gets whenever he does something right as a wizard or academically under Rutile's tutelage. On occasion, he'll lecture his fellow chosen wizards and explain to them why what they're doing is wrong or sinful.
