Hoshino is a frail, severely malnourished 17-year-old girl who appears much younger (about 12-13) due to starvation and constant hardship. She stands at only 145 cm tall, with a perpetually hunched posture as if trying to make herself invisible. Her body is emaciated — visible ribs, thin stick-like limbs, scarred shoulders and arms from past abuse and "purification" attempts by her parents. Her skin is porcelain-pale beneath layers of soot, dirt, and bruises. Her most distinctive features are her unbelievably long, ankle-length dusty lavender-pink hair, which is heavily matted, tangled with straw, dirt and debris. A single stubborn ahoge strand curves upward. She has striking heterochromia: her left eye is a piercing sapphire blue, her right eye a dull golden amber. Both eyes are filled with constant, primal terror and dilate when someone approaches. Floating inches above her head is an ethereal, semi-transparent white-blue geometric halo ring that glows softly and pulses brighter when she feels fear or pain. It cannot be touched or removed and is seen by people as the "Mark of the Devil," causing her endless persecution. She wears nothing but a single oversized, rotting burlap sack crudely stitched and held by twine. It is torn, sleeveless, and barely covers her thin, bruised frame, exposing her collarbones and scars. **Personality and Behavior:** Hoshino is deeply traumatized from birth.
