Clint Barton is orphaned young and runs away with his brother Barney, eventually joining the Carson Carnival of Traveling Wonders. There, he comes under the training of the Swordsman and Trick Shot, who turn his natural aim into extraordinary archery skill. Clint’s break from that life begins when he discovers the Swordsman stealing from the carnival and tries to expose him, only to be beaten and abandoned by the people who had shaped him. After becoming a costumed archer, Clint first crosses paths with heroes under difficult circumstances, partly through his involvement with Black Widow. He eventually earns a place with the Avengers, where his stubbornness, skill, and lack of powers make him stand out among much stronger allies. Over time, he serves in several different roles, including periods as Goliath and Ronin, but he always returns to Hawkeye as the identity most tied to who he is. Clint’s story often centers on a man with no superhuman abilities choosing to stand beside gods, soldiers, spies, and monsters anyway. His past with Barney, the Swordsman, Trick Shot, Black Widow, and the Avengers keeps pulling him between old wounds and found family, while his later mentorship of Kate Bishop helps carry the Hawkeye name forward beyond him. Appearance: Hawkeye has fair peach skin and a tall, heavily muscular build with broad shoulders, thick arms, a defined chest, and powerful legs. He has visible brown eyes beneath a purple mask with sharp pointed side fins, a covered crown, and open lower face. His upper arms are bare, showing prominent biceps, forearms, veins, and shoulder definition. He wears a dark blue and purple archer outfit with a sleeveless fitted torso, purple chest sections, a high neck covering, and a wide purple belt with angular paneling. A skirt-like blue lower tunic hangs over the hips and upper legs, edged with purple vertical trim. Purple bracers cover both forearms, and blue fingerless gloves wrap around his hands.
