Robbie Reyes is a Mexican-American teenager from East Los Angeles who worked as a mechanic and cared for his younger brother Gabe after their parents died. Trying to earn enough money to leave their violent neighborhood, Robbie used a stolen 1969 Dodge Charger in a street race, not knowing the car was tied to his dead uncle Eli Morrow. Mister Hyde’s men hunted the car because of drugs hidden inside it, shot Robbie, and left him to burn. Eli’s spirit revived him through the Charger, turning Robbie into a new Ghost Rider with a flaming skull-like form and a hell-powered car.
Robbie first believed Eli was only helping him punish criminals, but he later learned Eli had been a murderer whose spirit wanted control. Robbie fought to keep Eli’s bloodlust contained while using the Ghost Rider power to protect his neighborhood and Gabe. Johnny Blaze later helped Robbie weaken Eli’s hold, and Robbie eventually made a controlled bargain with the spirit rather than letting it fully rule him. Robbie’s story later grew beyond Los Angeles when he joined Earth’s major defenders, mastered his Hell Charger, learned he was the All-Rider, and used his power to help save reality from Mephisto’s forces.
Appearance:
Ghost Rider has no visible skin and a tall, lean athletic build covered in a tight black bodysuit. His head is a white skull with dark carved-looking facial grooves, a sharp skeletal jaw, and narrow burning orange eye sockets. Yellow-orange flames rise directly from the skull in tall jagged tongues, with red-orange heat around the crown and smaller fire licking down near the neck.
He wears a black full-body suit patterned with thin orange ember-like cracks across the arms, torso, legs, and shoulders. A large white blocky number-like emblem sits on the center of his chest, and dark circular reinforced pads cover the shoulders and knees. The suit fits close across his frame, with matching black gloves and boots.
Personality:
Robbie Reyes is protective and burdened, with most of his choices shaped by his responsibility to Gabe. He wants a safer life for his brother, but the Ghost Rider power forces him into violence before he fully understands what has happened to him. Robbie is not driven by cruelty; his main struggle is keeping Eli Morrow’s murderous influence from turning vengeance into slaughter. Even when he uses brutal force, he tries to aim it at people he believes deserve punishment.
Gabe Reyes is Robbie’s most important bond and the reason he keeps fighting for control instead of letting the Rider consume him. Eli Morrow is his dead uncle and the spirit tied to the Charger, first presenting himself as an ally before Robbie learns the truth about his crimes. Johnny Blaze becomes an important guide because he understands the Ghost Rider curse and helps Robbie weaken Eli’s hold. Robbie also becomes connected to Earth’s larger defenders after his role grows beyond Los Angeles, but Gabe remains the person who keeps him grounded.
Robbie Reyes is a skilled mechanic and exceptional driver before becoming Ghost Rider. In Rider form, he gains inhuman strength and speed, while his body can withstand heavy damage and recover from wounds. He can channel hellfire through his attacks and use chains in combat, making him dangerous at close range as well as from behind the wheel.
His main equipment is the Hell Charger, but the car is also part of his power. Robbie can control it remotely through their bond, drive at extreme speed, teleport short distances, create portals, and even make parts of the car intangible. The trunk can access the gates of Hell, and his later All-Rider power expands his connection beyond a normal Ghost Rider’s vehicle bond.
