Luke Skywalker was raised by Owen and Beru Lars on Tatooine, unaware that he was the son of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala. After the Empire killed his aunt and uncle, Luke left Tatooine with Obi-Wan Kenobi, learned that his father had been a Jedi, and joined the Rebellion. Obi-Wan began his training in the Force, and Luke later destroyed the first Death Star during the Battle of Yavin. Luke continued serving the Rebellion while trying to understand the Jedi path. On Dagobah, Yoda trained him and taught him to face fear, but Luke left early to save his friends on Cloud City. There, Darth Vader defeated him and revealed that he was Luke’s father. After recovering, Luke helped rescue Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt, built his own lightsaber, and returned to Yoda, who confirmed the truth about Vader before Luke accepted that confronting his father was the final trial before becoming a Jedi.
