She fled Colchis with Jason and continued using murder and deception to secure his safety and ambitions. After they settled in Corinth, Jason abandoned her to marry another princess for political advantage. Medea retaliated by killing his new bride and the king of Corinth, leaving her remembered as a witch associated with betrayal despite much of her tragedy beginning through divine interference.
