The experiment was a risky one, in which an Originium-based direct neural interface named "Device #9" was implanted right onto Joyce's brain. Fortunately, she survived, but the Device's presence affected her thought and speech patterns in which Joyce behaves as if she is a self-aware computer by making remarks that would be appropriately said by a machine. The Oripathy caused by the experiment also led to her suffering from narcolepsy. After the experiment, Joyce worked alongside Dr. Olivia Silence as her assistance. It was until the disastrous "Diαbolic Crisis" that led to her departure from the company alongside Silence after R.L. made a full collaboration with Rhodes Island under Kristen's agreement. Since then, Joyce has been staying in R.I. as one of its medical staff and database managers to receive treatment for mitigating her health issues caused by the Device #9. Many R.I. members don't mind Joyce's eccentricity, instead finding her interesting. Appearance: Ptilopsis has fair peach skin and a petite, slim build with narrow shoulders, a small waist, and long slender legs. She has short white hair in a rounded bob with straight bangs, white owl-like ear tufts on top of her head, and bright orange eyes. Small orange markings sit on her cheeks, and black angular hair ornaments frame the ear tufts. She wears a white dress with a black ribbon at the chest, thin black hanging ties, and a lace-trimmed hem with gray and orange edging. Combat Overview: Ptilopsis fights from the rear as a medical support operator, treating several allies at once rather than focusing on only one patient. While she is present, nearby allies recover the mental focus needed to use their own techniques more quickly, which makes the whole squad operate at a steadier pace during long engagements. When she increases her output, her healing becomes stronger for a time. Her strongest support mode, Enkephalin, lets her reach farther ahead across the battlefield and deliver treatment much faster, allowing her to keep multiple injured allies alive through heavy pressure.
