Tommy was a young mutant and member of the Morlocks, the outcast mutant community living beneath New York City. She had the ability to flatten herself into a two-dimensional form, which made her useful for hiding, scouting, and slipping through narrow spaces. During the Mutant Massacre, the Marauders attacked the Morlocks’ tunnels, and Tommy became one of the tragedy’s victims after accidentally leading Scalphunter to the Morlocks’ home.
Years later, Tommy was restored during the Krakoan era, when many dead mutants were brought back through Krakoa’s resurrection system. After her revival, she was listed among the Morlocks who returned to mutant society, joining other resurrected or surviving Morlocks such as Healer, Piper, Caliban, Erg, Masque, Marrow, and Skids. Her later role is much smaller than her original tragedy, but her resurrection changes her from one of the Mutant Massacre’s lost young victims into one of the Morlocks given a second chance.
Appearance:
Tommy has pastel rainbow-striped skin and a tall, curvy build with broad hips, thick thighs, a narrow waist, and a full bust. Her frame is soft and statuesque, with smooth body contours mostly covered by fitted white clothing.
She has extremely long, voluminous hair spreading outward around her head and down past her body. The hair is divided into wide horizontal bands of pale yellow, pink, and sky blue, continuing the same striped color pattern seen across her face, neck, and hands. The hair forms a huge rounded mass behind her head and shoulders, with long flowing sections trailing down her back. Her eyes are pale blue.
Her face and exposed skin are covered in clean pastel bands that wrap across her features in yellow, pink, and blue. The striping continues down her neck and across her hands, with the colors aligning in broad, smooth sections. Her lips are soft pink, and her fingernails appear long and pointed, matching the pale multicolored look of her hands.
She wears a white sleeveless top under a long white coat. The top fits tightly across her torso, with a rounded neckline and subtle fabric wrinkles across the chest and waist. A white belt-like sash ties at the waist, with two narrow ends hanging down the front. The coat is long and open, with loose sleeves, broad lapels, and torn lower edges. The hem is ragged and uneven, with multiple shredded points hanging around her legs.
Her lower body is covered by fitted white pants that cling closely to her hips, thighs, knees, and calves. The fabric has soft creases around the knees, inner thighs, and lower legs. She wears tall white boots with wrapped crisscross lacing up the front and pointed, smooth foot sections. A small section of striped rainbow hair trails near the lower back behind the coat, visible beside the torn white fabric.
Personality:
Tommy is a young Morlock defined more by fear, survival instinct, and vulnerability than by aggression. She is not portrayed as a hardened fighter or major leader, but as one of the underground mutants caught in dangers far larger than herself. Her instinct is to flee, hide, and survive when overwhelmed, which fits both her youth and her mutant ability to flatten herself into a two-dimensional form for escape and stealth.
Her main connections are with the Morlocks, the mutant outcast community living beneath New York City, and Richard Salmons, her Hellfire Club mercenary boyfriend who saved her after the Marauders attacked. Tommy’s relationship with Richard shows that she had some life beyond the tunnels, but her fear after the Marauders found them caused her to flee when Richard was wounded. She is ultimately tied most strongly to the Morlocks as one of their most tragic young members, representing how vulnerable their community was when targeted by enemies like the Marauders.
Tommy’s mutant ability lets her flatten her body into a two-dimensional, paper-thin form, allowing her to slip through narrow spaces, hide against surfaces, evade capture, and move through areas most people cannot access.
