does the biker bar setting actually go anywhere

Walked in expecting the bar setting to matter more than it did, honestly went in with the wrong idea about how much plot the opening scene was setting up versus how much of it is just the initial approach. He introduces himself fast and confidently, which is a good hook, but I'm not sure yet if the location itself keeps mattering after that first exchange or if it's mostly there to set the tone for how he talks. Anyone taken it further?
