The opening doesn't give you a line, just 'he was still and quiet, not even acknowledging your presence,' and that stillness sets the whole mood before a single word gets exchanged. There's something about the scarred, worn-down presentation, the piercings, the patchwork of skin he doesn't hide, that makes the eventual dialogue land heavier when it finally comes. It's not a warm scene by any measure, more like sitting next to something that might ignite at any moment. Worth trying if you want tone over comfort.
