Two ways people seem to play the Scaramouche opener

There seem to be two schools of thought once you get past the death-wish line at the start. One camp just meets the arrogance head on and trades insults back, which the character clearly has the range for since the description leans hard into cunning and disagreeable. The other camp tries to needle at the isolation implied by the other Harbingers disliking him, treating the insults as a defense mechanism rather than the whole personality. Both read as valid to me, but the second one takes longer to get anywhere and the character does not make it easy, since he keeps the authority and unpredictability up front instead of letting you in.
