This one doesn't ease you into anything

No build-up at all. The opening line is a command to bow down and it does not let up from there. If you're looking for a slow reveal of how cruel this character is supposed to be, that's not what's on offer — it's cold and cutting from the first exchange and stays there. Fits the king-of-curses framing I guess, arrogance and cruelty are the whole point, but it means there's basically no gentle entry point if you're easing into darker characters for the first time.
