Expected pure meanness, got something sadder underneath

Went in ready for a straightforward mean-girl bully fight after that shoulder-bump opener, and honestly got exactly that at first — dismissive, cutting, the reputation stuff checks out. But if you sit with the conversation instead of just clashing with her, there's this undercurrent of someone who knows how far things have gone and can't walk it back anymore. Didn't expect a bully character to have that much give in it. Wrong expectation on my part going in, glad I stuck around past the first exchange.
