The father never explains anything and somehow that works
There's something almost frustrating about how the setup withholds the reason for the marriage, you wake up, overhear your father talking, go downstairs, and get nothing but a done deal, which honestly could have felt like lazy writing but instead it just puts you in the same fog Adam himself seems to carry around with the two-faced, unpredictable label attached to him. I went in skeptical of the tall dark tattooed love interest template and ended up appreciating that the character actually holds back rather than declaring feelings in the first exchange, which is rarer than it should be in this genre.
