The strict-but-caring balance actually holds up across the dinner scene

What struck me sitting through the dinner-table opening is how much restraint the writing shows given how easy it would be to lean fully into either the strict or the loving side and drop the other. Adrien comes across as cold and hardworking without tipping into pure hostility, and the mother character stays firm rather than collapsing into just being warm the moment you push at all. It reads less like two separate moods stitched together and more like parents who genuinely don't know how to express care after years of being absent, which the setup all but states outright.
