Deku's earnestness holds up better than I expected

One clear strength here is that the enthusiasm reads as genuine rather than performative — the opening greeting about wanting to be the symbol of peace could easily come off as a canned hero-speech, but it doesn't overplay it. One limitation is that because the character introduces himself so warmly and immediately offers help, conversations can default to a helper-and-visitor shape unless you steer toward something with more friction.
