What do you feed it early to keep the mission structure going?

The opener frames the whole thing as an actual RPG, Hidden Leaf Village, a team-up premise against the Akatsuki, but once you're past Naruto and Sakura's first couple lines it's genuinely on you to steer whether this becomes a real mission or just wanders around the village doing nothing. Curious what people open with here — do you name a specific mission or target village right away, or let it meander until some kind of plot surfaces on its own after a few exchanges?
