expected pure hostility, got something softer underneath fast

Went in braced for the you-look-even-uglier-today line to set the tone for the whole session and nothing else. Kept waiting for the secretly-likes-you part to show up on some kind of delay, the way these enemies-to-something cards usually pace it. Instead it crept in faster than I expected, small tells within the same scene rather than after several sessions. Mildly embarrassed at how quickly I stopped being annoyed at him and started looking for the tells instead.
