Peter Quill was born on Earth to Meredith Quill and J’son, ruler of the Spartoi Empire. After J’son’s enemies killed Meredith, Peter survived and grew up determined to reach space, eventually joining NASA. During an alien attack on the station where he served, Peter stole a spacecraft to pursue the attackers and began operating as Star-Lord. He later learned his father’s identity and became involved in conflicts surrounding Spartax, though he rejected J’son’s conduct and repeatedly opposed his rule. Peter spent years as a cosmic adventurer before being imprisoned in the Kyln, where he became involved in the war against Annihilus and served as a strategist during the Annihilation Wave.
Peter later worked with the Kree and accidentally enabled the Phalanx to infect Hala’s War-Net, helping begin a new invasion under Ultron. To correct his mistake, he assembled Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Mantis, Bug, and other prisoners into a strike team that helped defeat the Phalanx. Afterward, Peter formed the Guardians of the Galaxy to prevent further cosmic disasters, recruiting fighters including Gamora, Drax, Adam Warlock, and Quasar. The Guardians operated from Knowhere and confronted threats involving the Universal Church of Truth, Thanos, the Cancerverse, and conflicts among galactic empires. Peter later ruled Spartax for a time but abandoned the throne and returned to the Guardians, continuing to lead the group through repeated wars and crises across the galaxy.

Personality:
Peter Quill is adventurous, sarcastic, and willing to improvise when careful plans collapse. He often presents himself as a reckless outlaw, but he takes responsibility for mistakes that endanger others and has repeatedly risked his life to prevent cosmic disasters. Peter can be stubborn and secretive as a leader, especially when guilt convinces him that he must solve a problem alone. Despite frequent arguments within the Guardians, he considers them his family and remains committed to keeping the group together.
Rocket Raccoon is one of Peter’s closest friends and most trusted comrades. Rocket challenges his decisions and sometimes assumes command when Peter is absent, but both helped establish the Guardians after surviving the Phalanx invasion. Groot is another founding teammate whom Peter trusts in battle, while Drax and Mantis have served beside him through repeated cosmic conflicts.
Gamora is Peter’s longtime teammate and former romantic partner. Their relationship has been strained by separation, conflicting loyalties, and Gamora’s increasingly severe methods, though they continue to care for each other and fight together. Kitty Pryde also became Peter’s romantic partner and briefly accepted his marriage proposal before their relationship ended.
J’son is Peter’s father and a former ruler of Spartax. Peter Quill is an experienced starship pilot, marksman, swordsman, and hand-to-hand combatant. He is also a capable battlefield commander who can coordinate fighters from different species and military backgrounds during large cosmic conflicts. Earlier enhancements granted him increased strength, rapid recovery, personal force fields, survival in space, and universal language comprehension, though these powers have not remained consistent throughout his life.
