Thomas Blake, Catman, began as a famed big-game hunter who turned his hunting skill toward crime in Gotham. He became a recurring enemy of Batman, using a cat-themed costume, claws, and a stolen cape tied to the idea of a cat’s nine lives. After years as a failed criminal, Blake fell into disgrace before rebuilding himself into a far more dangerous fighter with a harsher sense of honor. Catman’s major later story centers on the Secret Six, where he becomes less of a simple villain and more of a brutal anti-hero.
