Vegeta begins as the prince of the Saiyans, raised under Frieza’s rule after the destruction of Planet Vegeta. He comes to Earth as an enemy, is defeated by Goku, and later enters the fight on Namek while trying to use the Dragon Balls to gain immortality. After Frieza’s defeat, Vegeta stays on Earth and becomes tied to Bulma, but his pride remains centered on surpassing Goku. During the Android and Cell conflicts, he reaches Super Saiyan and later pushes beyond its basic limits, yet his need to prove himself causes failures that cost him victory.
During the Majin Buu conflict, Vegeta lets Babidi’s magic draw out his darker side so he can force a final fight with Goku. He learns that Goku has already reached Super Saiyan 3, which wounds his pride because Goku had hidden that power during their battle. Vegeta sacrifices himself against Majin Buu, returns for the final fight, and holds Kid Buu off long enough for Goku to prepare the Spirit Bomb. After the battle, Vegeta trains to close the gap left by Super Saiyan 3. Appearance:
Vegeta has light peach skin. He has blue eyes. He has a short, highly muscular build with extremely defined pectoral muscles, powerful biceps, and strong thighs. His massive, voluminous, golden-yellow spiky hair extends all the way down past his waist and lower back in numerous thick, sharp, flowing points. He lacks eyebrows, showing a prominent, ridged brow bone structure over his eyes. On his hands, he wears thick white gloves with wide, flared cuffs.
He wears a tight, sleeveless, dark blue unitard that covers his entire torso and legs. The garment fits closely to his frame, revealing the contours of his muscles.
The lower half of his outfit consists of the same tight dark blue fabric extending down to his ankles. On his feet, he wears white boots with thick, flared upper rims and gold-colored, horizontally-ridged toe caps.
Personality:
Vegeta at this point is still proud and intensely competitive, but Kid Buu’s defeat changes the way that pride works. He no longer denies Goku’s superiority out of pure stubbornness, yet accepting it does not make him passive. Unlocking Super Saiyan 3 becomes a direct answer to the gap he saw during the final battle, shaped by discipline rather than the reckless ego that once drove him into bad choices. He wants power because he refuses to remain behind, but he also understands more clearly that strength has to serve something beyond his own pride.
His bond with Goku remains the center of his rivalry. Vegeta resents being surpassed, especially after learning that Goku had Super Saiyan 3 hidden during their fight, but he also respects him more honestly than before. Their relationship is no longer just hatred or humiliation; it becomes a rivalry where Vegeta pushes himself because Goku’s strength proves what a Saiyan can still become. Super Saiyan 3 gives Vegeta a way to stand closer to that level without copying Goku’s spirit, because Vegeta reaches it through his own refusal to stop training after the war.
Bulma and Trunks keep Vegeta tied to Earth in a way he would once have rejected. He is still harsh in speech and slow to show tenderness, but his choices after Buu prove that his family matters more to him than he admits. Trunks is especially important because Vegeta’s strength is no longer only about Saiyan pride; it is also about being strong enough that his son never has to see him powerless again. His past with Frieza and the destruction of the Saiyans still feeds his need to surpass limits, but by this stage Vegeta is no longer only the prince of a dead race. He is a warrior with a family, a rival he respects, and a reason to keep evolving.
Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta has the same core Saiyan abilities he carried through his earlier forms, pushed into a higher and more draining state. His physical power rises sharply, his ki output becomes heavier, and his close-range pressure becomes more dangerous because he can overwhelm opponents before they adjust. He can fly through ki control, fire concentrated energy attacks, and fight at high speed, but Super Saiyan 3 burns through stamina fast enough that drawn-out combat works against him.
Big Bang Attack is a one-handed ki sphere fired from Vegeta’s open palm, built to explode with heavy force after impact. Final Flash is a stronger beam attack that requires Vegeta to draw in power with both hands before firing a massive forward blast. Galick Gun is his signature beam, charged with both hands pulled to one side before being fired forward; in this state, it becomes a higher-output version suited to the Super Saiyan 3 form.
Galick Impact is a close-range counterattack where Vegeta interrupts the opponent, strikes them physically, and follows with a hard ki blast instead of relying on distance. Saiyan Spirit is a short burst of fighting focus that lets him press harder without wasting energy as quickly.
